Manchester United had been drawn against Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League competition. There was initial confusion after the event, so the draw eventually was declared void.
As a result of that, it was sad for a large part of football fans across the globe because the Lionel Messi against Cristiano Ronaldo reunion will not happen again.
After the errors were committed in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 draws on Monday, the European governing body voided the results of the original draw and conducted a re-draw three hours later which then led to seeing PSG drawing the La Liga royals Real Madrid.
A very tasty matchup between PSG and Real Madrid with Kylian Mbappe set to face the club he has always in his entire career wants to join.
Also, the re-draw saw Manchester United have a tough test against the La Liga champions Atletico Madrid. But it was glaringly more of a relief as compared to the initial French side on the faces of the Red Devils.
So far, the only outcome as in the first time the draw happened a few hours ago was Chelsea vs Lille, both teams go head-to-head. The match days are to begin on the 15th of February.
Inter Milan will play the 2005 and 2019 Champions League winners Liverpool while last season’s Europa League winners will take on Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
The Portuguese title holders will take on last season’s Champions League finalists. Benfica will face Ajax, The Eredivisie side did not lose a group game en route to the last 16. And the Bundesliga champions will travel to Austria for the first leg to face.
