A 400-Level English student of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Sha’awanatu Imran, was involved in a ghastly motor accident which led to her death and that of her 3 years old daughter.
Sha’awanatu was travelling to spend the new year’s holiday with her husband when she was involved in a car accident on 23rd December 2021 along Talata Marafa- Gusau expressway, on transit to her home in Zaria from her university in Sokoto.
The accident led to the instant death of her daughter, Khadijah who was three years old and left Sha’awanatu injured both internally and physically.
Sha’awanatu Imran died Saturday night around 9:17 pm after being hospitalized in Shika Zaria for 36 days.
Before her death, she was a 400-Level student of English Language, Department of Modern European Languages and Linguistics, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto.
According to the President of the Modern European Languages and Linguistics Students Association (MELLSA), Muhammad Abdulrahman, “Sha’awanatu Imran was a responsible woman who lived peacefully with her course mates.”
She died at the age of 24 years, left a son and was laid to rest Sunday morning in her home town Zaria, Kaduna State.
