Accommodation sub-committee of the University Jumu’at Masjid Committee of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto has released the 2018/19 Tora Bora accommodation list for the returning students.
The lists which were pasted at the 3 rooms of the halls of residence on Tuesday 19th of March, 2019 after the approval of the committee’s chairman in person of Dr. Arzika Muhammad Danzaki comprises names of students who had initially applied for the hostel before the closure of academic activities last session.
The long-awaited lists were released prior to the resumption of academic activities after a long term recess at home by the students. Our reporter gathered that students have started moving into the bunks allocated to them but the normal registration process for the payment of the dues is yet to start. In a message passed to the students, it was said that the chairman of the committee will come for briefing before necessary documentation this week.
In an interview with Abdulkarim Sulaiman, a 200level student from the Faculty of Law said : “I’m very happy that I finally got a bedspace in this prestigious and dynamic hostel as it is known for, and I hope to complete my studies here with brilliant like minds who I shall be in rapport with, for the rest of the completion of my program.” Though, he is yet to resume but the reporter contacted him as his name was part of the list and said he will resume soon to get things done the way it supposed to be done.
Another students who introduced himself as Zubair Muslim from the Faculty of Agricultural sciences expressed his satisfaction and commended the effort of the committee with the level of transparency employed in the selection process which is free of biase. Muslim who is currently in 200level said that he hails from Kwara state and that hasn’t denied him the benefit of being selected during the selection process.
Hussain Ibrahim a 200level student of Biochemistry Department from the Faculty of Science said he is delighted because the hostel is very closer to the University library amongst other things to benefit religious wise from the hostel environment.
A 100level student of Arabic studies who introduced himself as Ridwan from Kwara state said the newly admitted students who applied for the accommodation are yet to see any notice to that effect because this is the best time for him to settle down before lectures hit harder.
