Kano Hall, popularly known as kwakasiya hostel, is one of the female hostels at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS).
Nevertheless, like many of us students staying in Kwankwasiya hostels we often face some challenges with electricity and water supply which always leads to regular power outages reducing our student ability to study, charge our devices, and carry out essential activities.
Many of us find it difficult to charge our gadgets. Some of us are lamenting on destroying their charger while charging in another hostel stealing their devices.
Poor lighting situations make the hostel surroundings dangerous at night, and the unstable electricity affects water pumping and due to that water can’t run without pumping it.
Students also struggle with inconsistent water supply, and find it difficult to take their bath, cooking, and maintaining personal hygiene.
Too many people in the tap fetching water is causing problems. Some students are using abusive words insulting each other in order to fetch water to use.
Poor electricity in the hostel is not giving the environment conducive living for students
