On 12th September 2023, Mohbad died and was buried the next day,His body was later exhumed by Nigerian police for an autopsy as investigations into his death continued.
Different allegations have been circulating around for those that were involved in Mohbad death including his friend ‘Owodunni Ibrahim’ known as Prime boy.
Prime boy who is known as mohbad’s friend filed a defamation against mobhad’s mother Abosede Aloba.
In October 2024, Premium Times reported that the Nigerian police placed a ₦1 million bounty on Prime Boy, who was declared wanted at the time due to accusations for the death of mohbad. That same month, Prime Boy announced his intention to sue Mohbad’s mother for defamation, claiming she falsely accused him of having a confrontation with her late son before his death.
The Defamation Lawsuit Details
The lawsuit demands that Mrs. Abosede Aloba paid ₦50 million in exemplary damages for spreading “false and harmful statements” about Prime Boy in a video interview released on March 28, 2024.
According to the claim, the interview was widely shared across various news platforms with the intention of damaging his reputation in the public space. The letter also issued a legal directive requiring Mrs. Abosede to respond within 42 days of receiving the court order. Failure to do so could result in the case proceeding without her knowledge, “You are hereby commanded that within 42 (forty-two) days after the service of this Writ on you… you do cause an appearance to be entered for you in action at the suit of the Claimant,” the statement read.
