It has become a culture every year, the Confederation of African football (CAF) gathers the continent and the stars under one roof to rejoice and celebrate excellence, passion and progress in the beautiful game of football. For over a decade now the ceremony has served as a symbol of pride and unity across nations, which highlight the immense talent that continues to rise from football.
Ademola Lookman who was play forward for Atalanta and Nigeria won the last CAF awards that was held in palais Des congres in Marrakech on December 16, 2024.
In this year 2025, all eyes turn to a thrilling race between three of the continent’s finest, Mohammad Salah, Victor Oshimen and Achram Hakimi, these battles are not just for football but for a place in African football.
MOHAMMAD SALAH LIVERPOOL/EGYPT
Mohammed salah is a Liverpool football club striker and Egypt striker he had a very wonderful season which help Liverpool to win the English Premier League title, and also won the Golden Boot with 35 league goals also with some assist, Mohammad Salah is a two time CAF winner this give him both pedigree and momentum in the race, Salah continue his elite performance over multiple seasons.
VICTOR OSHIMEN NIGERIA/ GALATASARAY
Victor Oshimen is a Galatasaray striker and he is a formal CAF winner in 2023, which means in this year he’s claiming for a return at the top, Victor Oshimen also had a sensational season in Turkey league, with the register of 37 goals, with additional of a league cup and a cup winning, he also claimed the Golden Boot in the super League and he was a major player in the galatasaray domestic trophies. He rise in new league and scores several goals
ACHRAF HAKIMI MOROCCO/PSG
Hakimi is a right back defender for both club and country and he also had a wonderful season, he collected a treble with the club PSG, ligue 1 trophy, coupe de France and UEFA Champions League, he delivered a historical treble with the club, he also recorded 9 goals as a defender with some of assist also.
Till now CAF has not yet announced the official date for the CAF awards ceremony. And it’s going to be West Africa versus North Africa.
