The Students’ Union of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), under the leadership of Comrade Lukman M Sanusi, has revealed the approval of its request from the university management to install Wi-Fi at the Students’ halls of residence.
This development was contained in a press release signed by the SU president, Comrade Lukman M Sanusi on the 17th of July, 2023.
Part of the release read thus: “This is to bring to the notice of all Danfodites, in a bid to ease their affairs and to make Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto one of the best in the country and beyond in terms of Technology development and good Welfarism. The Director of MIS has today approved the proposal made by the ever-committed Comrade Lukman M Sanusi led-administration to install Wi-fi at the Students’ hall of residence and necessary spots within the hostel environment.”
The statement further added that the installation of the Wi-Fi will be of great advantage to every Danfodite, as it will make them have easy access to the internet to study at their convenience.
Part of the development revealed in the letter is the installation of a security unit behind the university stadium.
Recall that there have been reported cases of attacks on students who live behind the university stadium. In a bid to curtail the unfortunate scenario, the Students’ Union has taken a drastic step to provide a maximum protection for the concerned students.
“In addition, there will be an installation of a security unit behind the University Stadium, to ensure the continuous safety of Danfodites residing in the area,” the statement concluded.
